Electric mountain bikes are developing at a dramatic pace. Many manufacturers produce them, but only two have power packages strong enough to withstand the conditions in our mountains: Yamaha and Bosch.<\/p>\n

Giant motor: SyncDrive Pro<\/strong>
\nThe smallest, yet extremely powerful, mid-engine is manufactured by Yamaha and tuned by Giant. With 80\u00a0Nm of torque, it will reliably push you to the summit of even the steepest stony trails. Despite being one of the most powerful motors on the market, it consumes very little battery. Furthermore, thanks to the five different pedal-assist modes, it is also possible to fine-tune the energy input. This precision adjustment from the SyncDrive Pro is a particular benefit when you need to stop on steep terrain and then start off again. The progressive motor thrust does not \u2018tear\u2019 the bike away and you can move off again easily. For us, this is one of the top mid-engines on the market today.<\/p>\n

Bosch motor: Performance CX<\/strong>
\nThe Bosch Performance CX is currently the drive motor most often fitted in mountain bikes. With 75\u00a0Nm of torque, it is extremely powerful at all pedalling rates. Thanks to the new E-MTB mode, the motor thrust adapts to the terrain, meaning that the steeper it gets, the more drive power it provides. This motor is somewhat larger, which presents additional challenges for bike manufacturers when it comes to frame design. German bike producer Cube has found the best solution to this problem with its elegant engine integration.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
